As the E commerce coordinator at Orelia I'm mostly sat behind my desk in the office in Brighton making sure that the website is running smoothly and keeping you all up to date with the latest exciting Orelia news via Facebook and Twitter!
So you can imagine my excitement when I got the news that I was about to escape the office this week for a trip to the Top Drawer trade show at Earls court!
I arrived at Earls Court and after getting lost a couple of times, (I was distracted by lots of pretty things!) I eventually found the Orelia stand and OMG it looked amazing!!!! I've never seen our stand at a trade show before and I've never used the term OMG before, but it was pretty special and by far the best looking stand there!
I was very excited to see the full SS14 collection surrounded by the props and styling that have been used in our Spring/ Summer photo shoots and with my ecommerce head on I couldn't help put snap away on our instagram account to share some of my favourite pieces from the collection with you all. I also got to meet some lovely wholesale customers from Bloomsbury & Co, Victoria Met Albert and Yard to name just a few!
So as I'd managed to escape the office I was going to take full advantage of my newly found freedom! After working a couple of hours on the stand with our Sales Manager Dominic and super Sales Agent Jane I was desperate to explore everything that was on offer at the show, plus by this point I was in desperate need of a coffee (you forget the perks of being in the office all day and I like a coffee or two!).
The first brand that caught my eye was Miho Unexpected Things from Italy with their quirky wall decorations based on Stag heads, birdhouses and butterflies. My favourites were the bird houses as I’m a little obsessed with owls!
As I work mostly online, our fabulous design team and I are always on the look out for graphic inspiration for the website. A lot of the inspiration comes from illustrations and prints and Lush designs particularly caught my eye with their colourful, beautifully drawn illustrations across tea towels, trays, bags and lampshades...and yes there are owls!
There is so much to take in at the show and with Valentine’s day at the forefront of my mind and every other online retailers! I couldn't help but full in love with the cute knitted lavender hearts by Catherine Tough. I was also super excited to hear that she's also stocked in John Lewis just like us!
I must admit I'm a true vintage girl at heart and I like everything second hand and old! ( apart from jewellery obviously, then it's all about Orelia!) So it was a surprise to me when One Must Dash caught my eye! Living in Brighton there is a lot of art, illustrations and prints around but their beautiful display at Top Drawer showed a real passion for what they do and I really need this print in my life, it's ironic as my husband is not the greatest dancer!
Anyway I've thoroughly enjoyed getting out (not in a day release from prison sort of way) and I've loved sharing a few of my favourite things with you from the Top Drawer trade show. We're heading to Pure next month so I'm hoping my Oyster Card will be getting an outing again!
Right...back to the day job xxx
