LA Love

We were both super excited that Louisa and Collette decided to send us to LA for our seasonal inspiration trip. We had a great time hunting and gathering new product from all the best stores, markets and thrift shops to inspire our AW14 collections.

We start by getting in the mood with a Buck's Fizz breakfast in the BA lounge. After a long flight (and more champagne) we finally arrive in sunny LA. First celeb spot - Sean Penn x

We are lucky enough to be staying in a beautiful hotel which has lots of quirky nik naks and the most amazing roof top bar, with hummingbirds flitting around while we sip our cocktails.

Our first day starts at one of the coolest shopping spots - Robertson Boulevard, home to some really famous shops such as Kitson and a very pretty Ivy restaurant which is a popular celebrity spot, they have a beautiful shop next door selling everything from vintage handkerchiefs to pretty cut glasses to Indian style saris and cushions.

We move on to West 3rd Street where there are lots of cute boutiques, and yummy food at Joans!

After a long hard day shopping and a few dollars lighter a cocktail at the hotel rooftop bar is calling...

Day 2 – We start with a little road trip to Santa Monica, put the radio on 80s on 8 and listen to a spot of Rick Astley (don't judge us), and head for 3rd street and Santa Monica place, the sun is shining and the street vendors and buskers are out in force, we scour the shops and by lunchtime we are ready for a Johnny Rockers hot dog and milkshake.

Yum. We then head to Venice and Abbot Kinney Boulevard which is a new hip district with loads of cool and interesting boutiques. A small dog seems to be the fashion accessory of choice...

Day 3 - An early start as we head to one of the local flea markets, there are loads of vendors selling vintage clothing,  bric a brac and young designers with their own remade vintage items, and more denim shorts  than a girl could ever wish for!

The food court is yummy and there is a live band, the perfect way to spend a Sunday.

It's warming up so we head to Brentwood to check out some of the shops there, it's a chic area with Scoop NYC for designer wares, my personal fave, freepeople, and a farmers market to keep you fed and watered on your way around the shops, talking of food, it’s time to get ready for our last meal at Little Door a perfectly cute fairy lit restaurant with yummy food and plenty of wine to choose from.

Day 4 - so excited for our breakfast this morning, Urth Cafe on Melrose is delicious and perfect to sit outside and watch the world go by.

We wander down the street making the most of the sun, all the boutiques here are stunning and huge.

Development for the AW14 collection is well under way..
