The city is now being branded as 'the new marketplace of Europe' so of course it was only right that Orelia went along to find out what all the hype was about. The people and the city have a really cool vibe, and all the trade shows were centred around Berlin fashion week.
Panoramawas the first show they visited which was situated outside the city in an old air hanger warehouse. The building was decked out Cuban style with whitewashed stands and mojito's being handed out.
Almost every stand had its own bar but our well behaved team resisted temptation (or so they said). Outside was almost more tropical as there was a chill out area for guests, complete with a man-made beach.
Unfortunately both Dom and Katy had forgotten their swimmers but luckily there were deckchairs and live music which transported guests to a more relaxing state of mind.
Street food was being sold from vintage caravans and tuk-tuk's, so as you can imagine Panorama was a step above the usual trade show.
After visiting Panorama our team went into the city where the pace picked up a notch or two at Premium. A hip fashion trade show, music god Pharrell was even there - need we say more… Denim brand True Religionwere doing everything possible to ensure their stand got noticed (and it worked) with live music, a popcorn machine and hotdogs for buyers to enjoy whilst making an order. Food and fashion, it doesn’t get any better than that.
Berlin certainly made us really excited with the talented mix of existing and up and coming designers, the city is a destination well worth a visit.
