The Trends That Inspired Us
Natural Construction
Think macrame, rattan, and basketry. These are the pieces that we wanted to channel for The Athena Collection. The precise, woven techniques that usually focus on natural fibres translate beautifully to metal. Especially pieces like signet rings or huggies, where the domed shapes already have connotations of a basket-like structure.
Wicker
Natural wicker pieces have been popular since the 70s, but now they are seeing a revamp in the world of jewellery. Many wicker collections feature natural or coloured wicker to allow the craft to take centre stage, celebrating the artisan techniques and roots of these pieces. The Athena Collection shows off gold, silver and rose gold earrings, woven necklaces and chunky rings, creating a more modern version of this trend.
Shade: Butter
Yellow has always been one of Spring/Summer's most popular colours, but this year we are seeing it shift towards a more mellow, pastel hue. Our design team always picks a colour that they believe speaks to the collection, and Butter was the key colour for The Athena Collection. The natural tone pairs well with the wicker and woven elements of the jewellery, so even though our collection is metal-based, you can feel the warmth and luxury of this key colour behind it.
Creating Our Collection
The Athena Collection shines by featuring 18k gold and 925 silver, drawing inspiration from these trends of woven materials and artisan crafts.
